Espace Go welcomes Imago Theatre

The Gazette – Montréal, August 16, 2011 – Posted by Pat Donnelly

Imago Theatre at Espace Go? Yes, this 25-year-old anglophone theatre company headed by Clare Schapiro, will be one of three companies “welcomed” into the Espace Go program next season.

The play in question is a new multi-lingual work titled Ana, co-created with an 18-year- old Scottish theatre company called Stellar Quines headed by Muriel Romanes.

Romanes once performed in Montreal, as Pierrette in the Scottish version of Michel Tremblay’s Les Belles Soeurs known as The Guid Sisters.

It was the best production of this Tremblay classic that I’ve ever seen. Ana, by Clare Duffy and Pierre Yves Lemieux, will play Espace Go Nov. 22 to Dec. 10, 2011.

For more on this collaboration and the rest of the Espace Go season watch for my theatre column in Saturday’s Montreal Gazette.
